The Cubs Holiday Wishes
Each cub's homework before our winter break was to write a holiday wish for themself, their family and the world. Here is what they wrote:

My wish for my family because my mom makes me dinner and she helped me with the Christmas lights, I wish that I had an X-box. I wish that the world would be bigger.

Tom Turkey Stories
The children take turns taking home different book buddies. One of the book buddy's this year was Tom Turkey. There was a book to read and then a journal for the children to write a story about Tom Turkey. The stories that they wrote are very entertaining. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did as they shared them during class.
Tom Turkey’s War by David
Tom Turkey has a brother. His brother is evil. They wanted to fight. Each team had 200 turkeys. For their weapons they had forks and spoons and turkey legs. They fought a big battle. And Tom Turkey’s team won. Tom Turkey’s team had 10 turkeys left and his brother had 1 turkey. Tom Turkey’s brother turned good. The End.

Tom went surfing and soon Tom saw a shark. The shark ate Tom’s surfboard. Tom fled away.

One day Tom Turkey went on a trip to the forest. On his way there he found a gingerbread house. The gingerbread man came out and he saw Tom eating his house.

Tom Turkey went to the City to buy his little sister a golden ring. But the store was closed. So he thought his sister would be mad at him. He saw another ring store. He went into the store but a golden ring that was 100 dollars he did something Cungragadid to his sister. The end.

He went down the hill. Then he found a snake. He went to the Wall. He was nervous. Then he found a lion asleep. He wasn’t nervous. He was happy. He went back up the hill. The way out was blocked. He was sad. He found a rock. He had an idea. He threw the rock at the wall. Then the wall was broken. He was happy again. He went home to eat dinner. After dinner he took a bath. Then he went downstairs to get his Teddy Bear. Then he went back upstairs to go to bed. He snuggled up. The end.

I was so happy I got Tom Turkey. I went to P.A.L. and played with Tom and I played with Alexandra too! Then I went to the store. Then we went home. I took Tom on my wagon ride and we ate dinner. The Tom fell but he did not get hurt.

I like bug hunting. Tom likes bug hunting. We tried to catch a moth. Tom tried to catch it but he fell because it was too high up but he fell on my backpack. I gave him a kiss and he felt better. I will miss him. Happy Thanksgiving.

Tom is walking through the forest. Suddenly a wolf jumped out. The wolf chased Tom. Tom is scared. Then Tom chased the wolf. More animals joined the chase. Three javelinas and two bobcats and one mountain lion all chased the wolf. Tom is happy. He has friends to help. Then the wolf ran to his den. Then the animals had a party because Tom is safe.

At my house Tom Turkey has a surprising adventure. His adventure was a dinner catastrophe. Tom had eaten too much. Then he eats more, and more, and more, and more. Then he gets to fall and then he wants desert!! He wants pumpkin pie and pumpkin seeds. I will sure be sad when Tom leaves. We had so much fun playing and eating.

Once upon a time there was Tom Turkey. He went to the zoo with his family to see a giraffe. He was so excited to go to the zoo. At the zoo he saw a giraffe and then he saw a peacock. He thought the peacock was his cousin because the peacock looked like him. Tom ate a cotton candy at the zoo. The cotton candy looked like Tom because it is fat and white.

Tom went to San Diego. He walked to the beach to look for a sea shell. He picked a sea shell but the sea shell had a crab in it and it bit Tom. Tom called for his Mom and she got it off. Tom was happy. His Mom took him home.

There once was a turkey named Tom. He lived on a farm with lots of animals. There were cows, chickens, horses, sheep, pigs, and turkeys of course. But Tom Turkey was not happy. He wanted to go to Hollywood to be a star. Tom loved to sing in the shower and have plays with his friends. One day the farmer left a gate open and Tom ran away! He made new friends when he got to Hollywood. He got a job doing a turkey commercial. Everybody loved how fat and juicy he was. His dream finally came true!

Tommy lives in outer space. He wants to visit a new planet. He found a planet and its name is Earth. He wants to visit that planet. He went to the planet. When he hot there it was a Hullabaloo. Tommy had fun at Earth but he had to go. He said, “By friends!” The end.

Tom Turkey came to my house. We both went on a bike ride. He ran into a tree. A wolf popped out and a bull and a hawk and a lion and a tiger and a giraffe. Tom Turkey was so scared, he ran all the way to the house. My Mom said to Tom, “Are you OK?” I ran all the way to the house too. I was tired of riding. Tom was tired too. And we sat down. My Mom gave us supper. The end.
