The Cubs Report for the Week of Sept. 20th

P.E.:
 At P.E. we played games.  The games were fun.  Games are exercise for you. (Adam)
We played dodge ball.  We didn't win because we kept touching the ball, so we didn't win. (Claire)
In P.E. we did a game called opposum.  It was fun if someone tags me. (Collin)

Math:
We did minus.  We did plus. (Charlie)
At math we drew apples. (Adriana)
We made apple hats.  It was fun. (Sophie)
In math we learned subtraction.  It was fun!  I did math!  Yes, it was fun! Yes! Yes! (Mason)

Science and Social Studies:
We colored apple trees in all the seasons.  (Nicolas)
We wondered if an apple and a carrot was going to change. (Crisitian H.)

Recess: 
At recess we played with our reading buddies. (Michael)
At recess we played all day. Recess is fun.  On Friday we played jumprope. (David)

Art:
In art we made a sunset.  We made practice sunset.  Then we made a real one.  (Jonas)

In the library I took an A.R. test and I took a book home.  Mrs. Schwart read me a book. (Shreya)

Music:
In music we sing and sing and we play a game.  (Amanda)
In music we played the old gray cat.  It was really fun.  We had to hide a mouse and the would try to find it. (Abby)

Writing:
We wrote about apples.  We learned about the core and the  seeds. (Peyton)

Language Arts:
At the SMARTboard we played "Guess the Covered Word".  I liked it.  I didn't get a turn, but that was okay.  But I liked it still.(Spencer)
At the middle of the day we did "Guess the Covered Word" with apple facts. (Alexandra)
We read to our reading buddies.  I like to read.  Reading is fun. (Megan)
In Self Selected Reading we read and we read to our reading buddies. (Bethania)
I read Ten Apples Up On Top.  I read the Foot Book.  I read the book about fish.  (Hector)

Hawk Walk:
At the Hawk Walk we walked for a really long time.  I got to spray the principal with food except for silly string. (Vincent)
The Hawk Walk was great.  The Hawk Walk is a big celebration.  In the end Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Skillman get a mess. (Ed)

Our Report in Pictures

The cubs were so busy on Friday because of their Mother Goose Festival, the Mother Goose Hunt and writing a classroom constitution they didn't have time to write.  Here are some pictures that show what's been going on in Bear Country.

The Cubs Report for the Week of Sept. 7th

Christian wrote a book.  He read it to the class.  He got to wear the author
glasses (Cristian H.) 
I read a book to the kids.  Everybody clapped for me.  I liked it. (Christian F.)
This is what the children did in Art last week. 
(There wasn't Art this week because of the holiday.)
Math: At the calendar we sang the months of the year song because Mrs. Pruzin wants us to. (Spencer)
We did fun math.  We wrote a lot of numbers.  We did a great job! (Peyton)
Music: In music we played a game.  The game was The Old Gray Cat.  One person is the old gray cat and one person hides the mouse. (Michael)
Music is fun.  I did not be the old gray cat. (Mason)
In music I played The Old Gray Cat and it was fun.  I did get to be the old gray cat.  I found the mouse.  We played the hammer game.  We got a 4+. (Claire)
We had very lots of fun in music. We played The Old Gray Cat.  (Collin)

Language Arts: We did Mother Goose rhymes.  It was fun.  We have our Poetry Folder. (Charlie)

In the Scholastic newspaper we read about the magic words. (Vincent)
We fed the word muncher a lot of words.  Mrs. Pruzin was the word muncher.  One day the word muncher's nose fell off! (Diego)
We watched a Mother Goose movie. (Hector)
At self selected reading we have animal reading buddies.  I have a dolphin. (Alexandra)
We had two more poems.  They were Mother Goose rhymes.  You get a sticker on your poem folder if you turn it in on time. (Jonas)
We colored our puppets and then we got a stick.  Then we taped it and then we did a puppet show. (Desirae)
In Spelling City we were spelling some words.  Sometimes they were hard and sometimes easy.  Spelling City is easy and the smartboard is the "teddy board". (Shreya)
We learned about big rigs.  The big rigs were awesome.  Big rigs are trucks. (Adam)
We made little puppets that were about the cat and the fiddle.  We got to color them. (Abby)
Gavin's Birthday: We ate cupcakes and I got seven bear hugs.  We played on the playground. (Gavin)
Gavin's birthday was perfect because we at cupcakes.  We played, too. (Amanda)
P.E.: P.E. was fun in the cafeteria on Thursday.  P.E. is cool.  Our teacher is Mr. Felix.  (David)  At P.E. we played Octopus. Later we went upstairs and we played Dinosaur.  Zero the Hero came out of his drawer. (Ed)

The Cubs Report for the Week of Aug. 31st

Math
In math we watched Brain Pop Jr. (Michael)
We did lots of math. It was fun. (Collin)
At math we learned about writing. (Christian)

Bear Day
At Bear Day we brought our bears. Mrs. Pruzin read us a story.(David)
At lunch we had a teddy picnic. We showed our teddy bears around the room. (Jonas)
Bear Day was the best day ever because it was the BEST day! (Shreya)
Bear Day was the best day ever. (Amanda)
I liked Bear Day. (Adriana)

Recess
At recess I played. (Sophie)
I made rocks at recess. (Nikolas)

Music
I do fun stuff at music. I got an instrument. I made music with it. (Claire)
At music we played a game. It is called Old Gray Cat. At music we did a band. (Alexandra)

Reading
We are reading with our reading book, and it is fun. Then we get to bring our reading buckets. (Desirae)

Spirit Celebration
At the Spirit Celebration we sang te Copper Creek song.(Spencer)
Michael got a Ben's Bells becaus he was kind and other people were kind, too.
We met Ben's mom and we gotto see Ben's Bells. We got to see pictures of Ben. We sang the Copper Creek song. (Peyton)

Art
In art I did a gumdrop museum. (Syd)
In art we played "Wich Goo".
